What Next? East London

About the Chapter
What Next? East London is a platform for conversation, discussion and debate leading to projects and actions that champion the role and value of the arts. We are developing a network of organisations and individuals within East London who engage and inspire our local audiences.

The chapter convened in July 2013 and is regularly attended by a variety of artists and organisations across East London and is supported by Artsadmin.

There is no formal organization and all activities are member-led. Regular attendance is beneficial as activities are undertaken and moved forward by people that attend the meetings.

Chapter meetings take place monthly on the 4th Thursday of each month between 1 – 2pm. The meeting location rotates between several of the venue-based organisations, but any member is welcome to host.

Everyone is welcome to attend, whether from an organisation or as an individual, artists or arts organiser, as well as residents in the local area. Meetings are one hour in length and the agenda for the next meeting is devised at the end of the meeting based on what the attending group would like to discuss. The meetings are Chatham House rules so there are no formal notes circulated.

Some sessions focus on a specific issue or theme and we regularly organise guest speakers to inspire and inform the group.
